Privacy Policy.

Last updated 16 September 2026. What personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Overview

LaughTrack AI ("we", "us") operates LaughTrack, a prompting and editing interface for AI-generated video. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the LaughTrack website, the waitlist signup form, and the web application. It does not apply to third-party services we connect to (SocialSight, Anthropic, model providers) — each has its own privacy policy linked below.

2. Information we collect

Waitlist signup: When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, name, and the show/anime combination you selected. We also record the date, the referring source, and your browser user-agent for spam prevention.

App usage: When you use the studio, we process your prompts, scripts, and project data as needed to send them to Anthropic (for writing) and SocialSight (for generation). This data is stored in your browser's local storage on your device, not on our servers.

Reference images: If you upload a photo to define a cast member's appearance, the image is transmitted to SocialSight and the model provider for the render. We do not store uploaded reference images on our servers.

Usage data: We collect basic analytics about how the Service is used (pages visited, features used, errors encountered) to improve the Service. This may include IP address, browser type, and device information.

3. Face and likeness data

If you upload a reference photo of a real person's face to define a cast member, that photo is transmitted to SocialSight and the model provider you selected. We do not store, retain, or use biometric identifiers from uploaded photos on our servers.

You represent that you have the right to use any likeness you upload, including the consent of the person depicted where required by law. You are responsible for ensuring your use of someone's likeness complies with applicable right-of-publicity and biometric privacy laws.

If you are a California resident, face templates and similar biometric data may be subject to the CCPA/CPRA. See the California notice section below for your rights.

4. How we use your information

To operate the Service: processing waitlist signups, sending your prompts to Anthropic and SocialSight, displaying results, and maintaining your projects in your browser.

To communicate with you: sending waitlist confirmation, notifying you when your wave opens, and responding to your questions or reports.

To improve the Service: analysing usage patterns, diagnosing errors, and developing new features.

To protect the Service: preventing spam, fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy.

5. How we share your information

With service providers: We send your prompts and inputs to Anthropic (for script and prompt writing) and SocialSight (for video generation). Each operates under its own privacy policy and terms. We do not send your email address or personal information to these providers unless you explicitly include it in a prompt.

For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the rights of others, or public safety.

Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information is transferred under different terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data retention

Waitlist data: We retain your email, name, and selections until you request deletion or unsubscribe.

Project data: Projects, scripts, and prompts are stored in your browser's local storage. We do not retain them on our servers. Clearing your browser storage deletes your projects permanently.

Usage logs: We retain server logs for up to 90 days for security and debugging, then delete them.

To request deletion of your personal information, write to privacy@laughtrack.ai.

7. Your privacy choices

Access and deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting privacy@laughtrack.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

Marketing: You may unsubscribe from waitlist or marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. We will only send transactional emails (e.g., wave-open notifications) after that.

Browser data: Since projects are stored in your browser, you can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

8. Notice to California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect about you, request deletion of your personal information, opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Face data in uploaded reference photos is processed to provide the Service you requested and is not stored by us.

To exercise your rights, contact privacy@laughtrack.ai. We will verify your identity before processing your request.

9. Notice to European users (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability.

Our lawful basis for processing is: (a) consent (for waitlist signup and marketing), (b) contract (for operating the Service you requested), and (c) legitimate interests (for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement).

Your data may be transferred to the United States and other countries. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required.

You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@laughtrack.ai.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union and United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@laughtrack.ai and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS) for data in transit and access controls on our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email where we have your address.
